Project Manager - Nigeria Macmahon - Ewekoro

Job description

We are currently seeking a Project Manager for our Ewekoro project in Nigeria which involves all limestone mining activities for client Lafarge. Macmahon undertakes a broad scope of work at the Ewekoro site including overburden removal of materials, drill and blast activities, excavation and transportation and the upgrade and maintenance of quarry roads.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and engage effectively with the project workforce and client to create a performance culture.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Ensure all production personnel including contractors and client personnel operate safely and comply with all acts, regulations, laws and client rules and regulation applicable to the contract and the Nigerian mining industry
· Maximise performance of company assets and deliver on set production KPI''s and targets
· Prepare the mine plan on required time horizons
· Ensure the Macmahon''s business processes are complied with and meet Macmahon''s internal and statutory requirements and Macmahon contractual obligation to the client
· Provide assistance and resources to reports to enable them to complete their work tasks
· Ensure agreed client''s production are achieved and exceeded if possible
· Ensure the site complies with all client required standards and operating procedures
· Be involved in client negotiations and discussions including monthly meetings as required
· Sets the direction for the site''s standards of safety performance
· Ensure production activities requiring exposure to critical risks are identified and mandatory controls are in place
· Undertake informal individual feedback reviews with direct reports on each roster
· Ensure Macmahon performance review process is followed and development plans are in place for all superintendents and the wider department
· Display comprehensive knowledge of contractual KPI''s and take necessary actions to ensure production and financial success
· Prepare annual CAPEX budget
· Ensure all significant production non-conformance are investigated immediately to determine root cause and corrective action to re-align with project KPI''s
· Develop and implement production improvement plans with accountabilities assigned to relevant personnel

Skills and experience required
  • Bachelor''s degree in mining engineering or equivalent
  • Qualification in quarry management
  • MBA or other management qualification is desirable
  • Minimum 10 years experience in the mining industry
  • At least 5 years in project/mine management
  • Development and management of budgets with an annual value of $100M
  • Implementation of mining statutory compliance (HSEQ, mines regulations etc)
  • Successful involvement with contact management with an operator in the mining or heavy engineering industries
  • Experience working in a developing country.

  • Report to the Head, Facilities and Administrative Services
  • Support the Head, Facilities and Administrative Services in achieving the following:
    • Develop and direct strategies for the Facilities and Admin department and ensure strategies are aligned with the overall goals of the organisation

Desired Skills and Experience

    • A graduate in Estate Management or any other relevant discipline, with at least 5 years experience, 3 of which must be in a managerial position
    • A Masters in Facility Management and/or membership of a relevant professional body will be an advantage

Brief Posting Description

We are currently recruiting for a Lead Structural/Civil Engineer on a 60 hour (6-day week) 6x2 rotational basis located at our offices in Lagos. The successful candidate will provide the study, design, specification of all structural engineering works for Brownfield project execution on behalf on International Clients in Nigeria. Majority of the projects will be offshore related but a knowledge of Civil engineering required for onshore infrastructure where required. Responsible for delivery and technical assurance of engineering associated with all phases of the engineering project life cycle (Conceptual, FEED and Detailed Engineering). Bias must be place on Structural engineering experience.

With Local autonomy, establishes and maintains the technical standards within the discipline. Sets strategic and tactical direction with regard to policy/procedures, work force staffing, and budgeting. Participates in decisions regarding the acquisition and execution of engineering and/or Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contracts, and supporting business acquisitions & preparation of technical proposals. This is a management level position with full responsibility for hiring decisions, staffing levels, budgets, salary administration, and career development of assigned personnel within an engineering discipline. May supervise several subordinate supervisors or team leaders, including discipline lead engineers on EPC projects.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate should be a Lincensed/Chartered Professional Engineer with an associated Degree in Engineering and have extensive experience in engineering (onshore and offshore projects), They should be well versed with national/international standards and delivery of Brownfield and have a broad range of Structural Engineering skills in the oil and gas processing industry in the offshore and onshore environment.

Summary:        The GIS Manager oversees, supervises, and coordinates all aspects of eHA’s Geographic Information System (GIS) activities and operations; coordinates assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies; and provides highly responsible and complex staff assistance to management.  S/he develops and maintains the long-term GIS vision and strategies through implementation and execution of projects and ensures support of the overall organizational goals.   May serve as a member of the eHealth Board of Directors.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Other duties may be assigned
  • Oversees all functions of the GIS department, including technical development and project management.
  • Develops and maintains the GIS Strategic Plan
